Mieleni Maut_Maum Mokki

Doesn't it sound like a Finnish word? Maum Mokki? Actually, maum is a Korean word for mind and heart, and mokki means eating. However, this doesn't mean eating mind as it says literally, but it means 'deciding' in Korean.
I did the performance during the opening of the exhibition, Mieleni Maut at Aboa Vetus Ars Nova Museum in Turku, Finland. The exhibition was formed after my food-and-art workshop with a group of home carers from Turku.
During the performance I handed out the little objects I made with the ladies which include prescription(resepti in Finnish) of your mental health. Since the ladies were asked their own recipe for their memorable food during the workshop, this sharing 'resepti' became the whole concept of the project.
Object
The object I asked the ladies to make with me was from my experience from my high school time. Girls used to write little notes to each other on a small post card then formed into a shape which we also made in the workshop. It was not folded but it made such a beautiful curve and pointy ends at the same time. Usually we used to put some candies and chocolates inside, so at the opening of the exhibition we also put some golden heart shape chocolate.
Handing out 'Resepti'
The reaction from the audience was quite interesting, because at first people were quite surprised at getting a free stuff which they don't know what's inside, then when the curator informed what it was all of them just started opening and trying to eat the chocolate. While I was distributing the object, I was wearing a dress with angel's wings on the back, so I could emphasize on the cherubic concept of this project at the same time.
